PROTEST IN "SAMARSKAYA LUKA" GOES ON...

Events in the protest camp in the national park "Samarskaya Luka" continue to develop. Since the end of July in Samara the investigation foes on in three departments at a time. It's devoted to the illegal arrest of four "Rainbow Keepers" and to the beating of one of them by the police officer. These three departments are: District Department of Internal Affairs of Samara Region, Regional Public Prosecutor's Department, and Regional Self-Security Board. There is a possibility of criminal charges brought up against the police officer. At the same time police members of the department that arrested "Rainbow Keepers", persistently recommended them not to turn to any officials and especially mass media in the future similar cases.
On the 4th of August two activists from the camp and A. S. Solovykh from "Civil Initiative" left the camp to look for the dam Selskaya (Melnichnaya), which practically belongs to the forest engineer of the national park F. A. Filatenko. They were stopped not far from the dam by the staff members of park administration, among whom there were inspector of nature protection N. M. Milyukov and Filatenko himself. They took away Solovykh's certificate of All-Russia Society for Nature Protection membership and public inspector's card. They declared that such organization did not exist(!).
